- ND4: The lower the ND number, the less light it blocks from entering your camera. For example, an ND4 filter blocks out 4 f-stop of light, and an ND1000 blocks 10 f-stops of light.
- ND8: ND8 filter is the best to enhance and sharpen light activity in the dark while giving your image a smooth effect.
- ND16: ND16 reduces light by 1/16. An ND16 filter can reduce 4 stops of light, allowing you to slow the shutter speed from 1/400s to 1/25s.
- ND32: An ND32 is perfect for bright light because they give you 5, 6, and 7 f-stops of light reduction giving you a lot of freedom to open your aperture and slow your shutter in bright light. Shot with an ND32.
- ND64: The NiSi ND64 (6 Stop) + CPL is a Neutral density (ND) filter that uniformly reduces the amount of light entering the lens combined with a CPL.
- CPL: Many landscape or outdoor photographers would be lost without a circular polarizing lens (CPL) filter. By rotating a circular polarizing filter, you can block out certain wavelengths of light. This lets you reduce glare, haze and reflections from objects such as water, glass or vehicles.
